Automate - Use Multiple Versions of the Nuix Engine

Introduction

Rampiva Automate includes a job scheduling function that allows system administrators to create jobs based on events or date/time criteria. Scheduled jobs can be used in many ways such as: Automated source and case file management; Case backup, migration, or archiving; Automated post-job operations such as QC, Failed job retry; Metrics collection and augmentation; and Automating job creation for Matters that utilize the Upload Data functionality. This guide details how to create Scheduled Jobs and the related settings.

Prerequisites 

  • Rampiva Scheduler v 5.0.0 or later


Instructions

A. Create a base Execution Profile

Configure an Execution Profile with all pertinent settings:

  • Log Folder

  • Command-line Parameters

  • Workflow Parameters

  • Notification Rules

  • Timeout Settings

  • Nuix Profiles

  • Additional files

 

B. Deploy Nuix Engine Versions

On the Rampiva Scheduler server, browse to C:\Program Files\Nuix\.

Extract Nuix Engine folders to C:\Program Files\Nuix. Name each folder to include Nuix Engine and the version number of the Engine binaries.

Ensure that each Nuix Engine folder uses ‘Nuix Engine’ at the beginning of the folder name.

Ensure you also deploy the same Nuix Engine versions to each Nuix Engine Server.

 

C. Duplicate the Execution Profile

Click on the previously configured Execution Profile.

From the Execution Profile item menu, select Propagate to All Nuix Versions.

Click Duplicate to confirm duplication of the Execution Profile.

Review the list of Execution Profiles.
