Automate - Performing ECC Collections

Introduction

This article outlines the process of configuring ECC server for Rampiva Automate and deploying ECC collections through Rampiva Automate.

Prerequisites 


Instructions

A. Creating an ECC Collection - ECC Users/Computers

Navigate to the Collections Page

Click the Add + button to create a new Collection.

If the Add + button is disabled, verify that you have Create and Modify permissions on the scope All Collections in your Security Policy.

Select Client for the collection. For example ECC Client.

In this step we will select the matter for the collection, for each computer in the collection a data set will be created data sets are named by computer name and collection.

Select Matter for the collection. For example Collection Matter.

For example: Computer1-Collection1.

Click next.

Enter Sample Collection for the name of the collection.

Select ECC Collection for the collection type.

Select Collection Data Repository for the data repository of the collection..

Click next.

Select ECC Profile for the ECC profile of the collection..

In this step we will select the ECC Configuration we will use for the collection, the ECC Configuration is a predefined collection on the ECC server that Rampiva Automate uses to deploy ECC collections.

Select Collect Documents for the ECC configuration of the collection.

Select Include logs near dataset folder for the log strategy of the collection.

In this step we will select computers for the collection, computers are selected by clicking on a computer row in the computer table. The computer table is located in the Computers section.

Select computer for the collection. For example CC01.

Click next.

Review and confirm Collection settings.

Click collect.

B. Creating an ECC Collection - Active Directory Users/Computers

Configure the Rampiva Automate ECC Profile to collect only AD items.

Click the Sync with AD radio button.

Change the Collection Scope to Only AD Items.

Navigate to the Collections Page

Click the Add + button to create a new Collection.

Select Client for the collection. For example ECC Client.

In this step we will select the matter for the collection, for each computer in the collection a data set will be created data sets are named by computer name and collection.

Select Matter for the collection. For example Collection Matter.
