Introduction

Nuix has developed a license type called the eDiscovery Production License. It allows no ingestion and export options, but supports longer operations such as OCR, Imaging and Cluster runs. Rampiva Automate helps you utilize these workers by utilizing the Nuix remote worker technology. This guide covers how to set up and run Remote Nuix Workers, along with how to configure a Rampiva Workflow to utilize them.

Prerequisites

  • Compatible Nuix Engine Version Installed

  • Local Administrator Permissions

  • NMS Permissions

Instructions

A. Start Agent and Broker

1

Deploy the worker broker and agent bat files to a Nuix processing machine.

2

The sample Worker Agent bat file has the following switches:

-brokeraddress = 10.0.0.2:51500

-licencesourcetype = cloud-server

-licencesourcelocation = https://license-api.nuix.com

-licencetype = ediscovery-production

-licenceworkers = 4

3

Edit these vales and configure them for your environment.

4

Run the Worker Agent.bat file to start the worker agent.

5

Run the Worker Broker.bat file to start the worker broker.

6

Ensure that the Agent has connected to the Broker.

The command line should display: ”Connected to worker broker….”

B. Workflow Setup

1

In order for a workflow to take advantage of the remote production workers, a setting will need to be added to the configuration profile. The Configuration operation will need to include the number of remote works, the Worker Broker IP address and port.

Production workers are not managed by Rampiva Automate and cannot be used when Rampiva Automate Resource Pools are configured to perform distributed processing.
