Automate - Upgrading to Rampiva Automate 6

Introduction

This article covers steps we recommend prior to upgrading to Rampiva Automate 6 from previous versions.

Rampiva Automate now has a unified installer. If you previously installed Workflow and Scheduler, completely uninstall each prior to installing Rampiva Automate.

Prerequisites

Local Administrative privileges to install software
Internet connection to download software
MSSQL Administrative privileges (if applicable)

Upgrading Rampiva Automate

A. Preparation

1	Download the latest Rampiva Automate Release here: https://downloads.rampiva.com/automate/release/index.html Users upgrading from Rampiva Scheduler 5.0 and lower should not use the In-Place Upgrade option. Users upgrading from versions 5.0 and above should use the In-Place Upgrade option.
2	OPTIONAL STEP - Nuix Engine versions 9.0 and 9.2 ONLY Download and install the latest version of the AdoptOpenJDK Library. Available versions can be downloaded from the link provided: https://adoptium.net/?variant=openjdk8&jvmVariant=hotspot.
3	Stop the Rampiva Engine and Rampiva Scheduler services and close Nuix workstation for all users.
4	Using the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel, uninstall Rampiva Workflow and Rampiva Scheduler.

B. AdoptOpenJDK (Nuix 9.0 and 9.2 ONLY)

1	Execute the AdoptOpenJDK Installer. Uninstall previous versions if they are installed.
2	Use the default settings.

C. Rampiva Automate - Installation (Workflow Only)

1	Execute the Rampiva Automate installer and start the installation wizard by clicking Next. Then, read and accept the Rampiva End User License Agreement (EULA).
2	Confirm the installation and if prompted by Windows Account Control, click Yes to accept the action.
3	Select the Workflow Designer option and click next.
4	Click Close to complete the installation.

D. Rampiva Automate - Installation (Scheduler Server Only)

1	Execute the Rampiva Automate installer and start the installation wizard by clicking Next. Then, read and accept the Rampiva End User License Agreement (EULA).
2	Select the server role as Scheduler and Workflow Designer, then click next.
3	Confirm the installation and if prompted by Windows Account Control by clicking Yes to accept the action.
4	Backup Rampiva Databases.
5	Click Close to complete the installation.

E. Rampiva Automate - Installation (Engines Only)

1	Download the latest Rampiva Scheduler Release version: https://downloads.rampiva.com/automate/release/index.html
2	Execute the Rampiva Automate installer and start the installation wizard by clicking Next. Then, read and accept the Rampiva End User License Agreement (EULA).
3	Select the server role as Engine Server and Workflow Designer, then click next.
4	Confirm the installation and if prompted by Windows Account Control by clicking Yes to accept the action.
5	Click Close to complete the installation.
