Introduction

This document describes the steps required to run a custom version of Rampiva Workflow in a specific installation of Nuix Workstation, without updating the Rampiva Automate version on the entire server. This setup should be used for testing a specific version of Rampiva Workflow or as a workaround and is not intended as a long-term production deployment.

Prerequisites

  • Rampiva version 7 or later

  • Main server with Rampiva deployment

  • Secondary server

Instructions

A. Prepare the Nuix Workstation That Will Run the Custom Rampiva Workflow Version

1

On the main server, make a copy of the Nuix Workstation installation to C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix x.y-Rampiva-Custom.

For example, if the Nuix Workstation installation is located at C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix 9.10, copy this folder to C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix 9.10-Rampiva-Custom

2

In the newly created Nuix folder, navigate to the lib subfolder.

3

Select and delete the files with the name starting with a_rampiva_…

B. Prepare the Custom Rampiva Installation

1

On the secondary server, install the required version of Rampiva Automate.

Only the Workflow component is required.

2

On the Desktop, create the folder Rampiva-Custom.

3

From the C:\Program Files\Rampiva\Automate\lib, select and copy the following files to the Desktop folder Rampiva-Custom:

  • rampiva-automate-dependencies.jar

  • rampiva-automate-utils.jar

  • rampiva-licence.jar

  • rampiva-workflow-core.jar

  • rampiva-workflow-dependencies.jar

4

From the C:\Program Files\Rampiva\Automate\lib\ui, select and copy the following files to the Desktop folder Rampiva-Custom:

  • rampiva-workflow-ui.jar

  • rampiva-workflow-ui-dependencies.jar

5

In the Desktop folder Rampiva-Custom, rename all files by adding the a_ prefix.

6

Confirm that the Desktop folder Rampiva-Custom contains the following files:

  • a_rampiva-automate-dependencies.jar

  • a_rampiva-automate-utils.jar

  • a_rampiva-licence.jar

  • a_rampiva-workflow-core.jar

  • a_rampiva-workflow-dependencies.jar

  • a_rampiva-workflow-ui.jar

  • a_rampiva-workflow-ui-dependencies.jar

7

Copy all files from the secondary server from the Desktop folder Rampiva-Custom, to the main server to the C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix x.y-Rampiva-Custom\lib folder.

8

Run the custom Nuix Workstation + Rampiva from the C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix x.y-Rampiva-Custom\nuix_app.exe.

9

When the specific testing or workaround for which this deployment was prepared is complete, delete the custom folder C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix x.y-Rampiva-Custom.
